Extra Credit Opportunity

Fallen Angels Extra Credit Assignment

 

This assignment will require you to read the novel Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers.  Please follow the directions.  If any part is missing, you will not get credit.  You need to type your assignment.

 

 

1. Label your paper Fallen Angels. 

 

2.  Write these objectives at under the heading:

            *Explain how the novel shows the impact of war on Americans.

            *Explain how the novel fits into our unit of study.

3.  Write a half page summary of the novel.

4.  Choose one of the objectives to focus on.  Write a PIE-IE in which you use specific examples from the film.

¨     Due March 8 if you want it to count for this progress report.  Due March 15 for everyone else.

Please bring your book on Monday!!  If you missed the final exam due to illness, we will be having a make-up on Tuesday at 2 pm.

Grades, Finals and Studying

Your grade going in to the final has been posted.  If you have an 89.5% or higher, congratualtions, you do not have to take the final exam!!!  Remember, you need at least a 63% to pass the class.

Study tips:

*Use the notetaking guides as a study guide
*Re-read the chapters.  The final is on chapters 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and 13
*Review the past quizzes.  We have posted the old quizzes with the answers.  Almost all of the final exam questions come from the past tests.

If you want to find out what you need to get on the final to get a certain grade, check out this website.  Trent Marlow showed it to me.  The final exam is worth 15% of your grade.  I round up at .5.  For example, an 89.5% is an A-, a 79.5% is a B-.

Grades and Finals

Hey everyone!!  I hope you have a great break!!  People have been asking questions about finals and what to study.  You should study all of the note taking guides that we have given to you over the course of the semester.  You should be able to answer and explain all of the objectives and key terms without looking at your notes.  I highly recommend making flashcards.  It helps.  Make sure that you know the significance, not just the definition. 

Also, we have put all of the past tests online so that you can review the questions.  The questions on the final will be very similar and some of the questions will be the same.  Look for them in thelink that says online content.

Grades will be updated today by the end of the day.

P.S.  There is no homework over break, besides stydying for the final.  But when we get back, we still have a lot of work ahead of us.  We will be starting an in class project and covering two chapters!!

Hello everyone!!  We ae in the home stretch.  We have started the last grading period of the semester.  But we are far from finished!  Do not give up now! 

The grades that are currently posted online are the progress report grades.  Grades will be posted again next week. 

There has been a date change on the schedule.  Here are the dates for chapter 10.

10.1 and 10.2- I am lecturing in class on 12/5.  If you are absent, you are responsible for doing the notes from the book.
