PSAT Info

THE WHY???
Since this test is NEW, there are a lot of reasons WHY our 10th and 11th grade students should be taking this test:

PERK #1:
11th grade students who do really well could qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.

PERK #2
The NEW SAT will be somewhat similar to the ACT.  Students will not be penalized for guessing and there will be questions related to common core curriculum.

PERK #3
Students who take the PSAT will be offered a FREE, personalized online prep SAT class (through Khan Academy) based on their PSAT results.  It will focus on areas where students need improvement.

PERK #4
Based on the PSAT results we (the school) will receive a list of students who have AP Potential in various subjects.  This information could help us greatly when working on student placement.

OTHER DETAILS:
Cost: $15.00
Test Date: Wednesday, October 15th (Minimum Day)
Registration Deadline: Monday, October 12th (online through the Valhalla website or in the Finance Office).
Test Location: Science Building
Test Time: 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. (students excused from periods 6 & 7)

*Fee Waivers are available for 11th Grade Students ONLY!  Students can pick up an application in the Counseling Office.
