Grades and Date Changes

Hello!  I am pretty much up to date on grades, except for the AP write.  I will be entering those this weekend.  This will have a big impact on your grades since, as of now, there is nothing in the writing category.

Date changes:

The MC Practice #1 is now due on Thursday, 10/15, becasue of my schedule and the PSAT.

I have postponed the next AP write because of homecoming.  It will be the following week instead.

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

Since this test is NEW, there are a lot of reasons WHY our 10th and 11th grade students should be taking this test:

PERK #1:
11th grade students who do really well could qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.

The NEW SAT will be somewhat similar to the ACT.  Students will not be penalized for guessing and there will be questions related to common core curriculum.

Students who take the PSAT will be offered a FREE, personalized online prep SAT class (through Khan Academy) based on their PSAT results.  It will focus on areas where students need improvement.

Based on the PSAT results we (the school) will receive a list of students who have AP Potential in various subjects.  This information could help us greatly when working on student placement.

Cost: $15.00
Test Date: Wednesday, October 15th (Minimum Day)
Registration Deadline: Monday, October 12th (online through the Valhalla website or in the Finance Office).
Test Location: Science Building
Test Time: 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. (students excused from periods 6 & 7)

*Fee Waivers are available for 11th Grade Students ONLY!  Students can pick up an application in the Counseling Office.
